Maths Number Facts
Children will only learn their key number facts by saying them repeatedly. Please support your child to chant the times tables and other number facts. Ask them quick recall questions as well as to count in multiples of the number forwards and backwards.
Use Times Table Rockstars for independent practise.
There are also many other online games and apps to support learning times tables.
All children will be tested periodically in class on all of the times tables that they should know. You will be kept informed about their progress.
By the end of Year 3, your child should:
- Know number bonds within 10, 20 and 100.
- Recall and use multiplication and division facts for 2, 3, 4,5, 8 and 10 times tables.
By the end of Year 4, your child should:
- Know number bonds for 10, 20 and 100. E.g. 3 + 7 = 10, 3 + 17 = 20, 30 + 70 = 100. Know all number bond pairs to 10. E.g. all the ways to make 5. 0 + 5, 1 + 4, 2 + 3.
- Recall and use multiplication and division facts for ALL times tables. (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 times tables - up to multiplied by 12)
