Home Learning

Learning at home

Children are learning and developing their reading skills throughout Reception, and it is really important that they are practised  daily at home. This could involve practising the individual letter sounds that have been taught during the week, using these sounds to create simple CVC words to practice blending skills, and in time reading their school reading book.  Your child can also practise forming the letters correctly, this will enhance their Physical development skills and aid writing.

Please record home learning activities in their reading record book and ensure that children bring their reading folder to school every Monday, where new sounds can be shared. As your child progresses with their phonic knowledge and blending, a reading book will be sent home.

Home learning can be accessed through Google Classroom, where work can be submitted and comments shared with the Class Teachers.

Should your child need to self-isolate due to COVID-19, each week work is updated to Google Classroom to ensure your child's learning will continue in line with the class learning.
