Learning at home

As children are learning and developing their reading skills throughout Reception, it is really important that they are reading daily at home. This could involve practising the individual letter sounds that have been taught during the week, using these sounds to create simple CVC words to practice blending skills, or reading their school reading book.  Please record these activities in their reading record book and ensure that children bring their reading folder to school every day.

It is also great to encourage your child to visit the local library and chose books that interest them that you can share together.

There are some home learning ideas linked to our current topic below. This is not intended as a list of activities that must be completed but is instead some ideas of activities that you could do together should your child wish to continue their learning at home.
