Wooden Hill Primary and Nursery School

About Our School

Wooden Hill Primary and Nursery School is situated within the Great Hollands area of South Bracknell. The school is situated about half a mile from local shops and three miles from the town centre.

Our school was built in 1977 as an open plan school and has undergone a series of extensions and refurbishments to develop the teaching and learning areas across the school.   Works were completed in 2014, 2017 and more recently in the summer of 2020 to remove all open plan teaching spaces for years 1-6.  In the summer and autumn of 2020 an additional classroom, meeting room and toilets were built.   All classrooms are kitted out with the latest equipment with high-tech, BenQ interactive boards.  The accommodation within the school includes a large hall, a library and additional intervention space, in addition to the class teaching areas.

There is capacity within the school to accommodate 420 pupils from the Reception classes through to Year 6, with each year group admitting up to 60 pupils.  The school currently has two classes of up to 30 children in all year groups.  We also have a popular Nursery Class, with up to 60 children attending a session, which offers flexible sessions as well the 30 hours extended funding (for eligible families) for children from the term following their 3rd birthday.

Our school grounds have been landscaped to provide a variety of hard and soft play opportunities in addition to the versatile Astroturf Football Pitch. Security fencing and entrances to the school have been developed in line with current government requirements. The Reception garden was updated and fitted with playturf during the Summer 2018 and additional high quality playframe was erected in the main playground in 2019.
