Key Stage 1's Healthy Eating Picnic
On Thursday, Key Stage One held their 'Healthy Eating Picnic'.
Throughout the day, the children learnt about what it means to be healthy and discussed the importance of having a healthy diet. They also explored the difference between food hygiene and food safety, and have learnt how to stay safe in the kitchen.
During the afternoon, the children each planned and prepared a healthy snack. In Year One, the children prepared delicious fruit kebabs, Deer Class designed healthy pittas with an assortment of dips, and Rabbit Class made fruit yoghurt. The children all made sure they were safe and hygienic when preparing their snacks.
Later on, the Key Stage One team held a healthy picnic. The children all enjoyed the tasty spread made by their peers, listening to music, and relaxing after all the hard work preparing their food.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the adult helpers who came in to support us with our food preparation. We would like to say a special thank you to Tilly in Year one who showed she was a generous and kind girl, sharing with her friends. We really appreciate it, and hope you loved the picnic just as much as we did!
Here are some photos of the afternoon!
